A free app that helps airline crew trade shifts and look out for each other, run by a nonprofit.
TakeMyShift is a free app that helps airline crew members trade shifts, coordinate with each other, and keep track of their hours. Instead of scattered group texts and bulletin-board notes, your base gets one place to post a trade, pick one up, and chat with the person on the other side of it. It's free to use with no subscriptions.
The app is built for airline crews and requires a company email address to sign up, so the people you're trading with are real coworkers. Today it serves Southwest Airlines crews, and it was designed from day one to grow to more bases and more airlines. TakeMyShift is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any airline.
Crew life is unpredictable. Schedules are set months in advance, but real life isn't. Trading shifts is one of the best tools crew members have for balancing work with family, health, and everything else — but finding the right person to trade with has always been harder than it should be. TakeMyShift exists to make that part easy, so crew members spend less time searching and more time living.
We also wanted the app to be a place crews actually enjoy. That's why it includes a live chat room for each base, an hours tracker, and a set of free airline-themed games. The games use in-app points only — there's no real money involved and nothing to buy.
TakeMyShift and the PickUp app are operated by Ultimate Advancement of Knowledge (UAOK), a nonprofit organization. UAOK's work centers on education and opportunity, including creating real-world job and technology experience for young people. Building and running useful tools like TakeMyShift is part of that mission.
